Masonry Waterproofing & Drainage
Water is the enemy in every trade we work. We seal and coat foundation walls, repair foundation cracks, parge and protect the grade line, and correct the pitch and drainage that's sending roof and surface water against your house. Fix the water path once and the masonry stops needing rescue.
Foundation exterior work
Where a foundation wall can be exposed, we clean, repair, and coat it with dampproofing or waterproofing membrane, protect it, and backfill with drainage in mind. At grade, parge coats and correct slope keep the splash zone from eating the wall.
Surface drainage that protects the masonry
Patios pitched toward the house, downspouts dumping at the foundation, walks that pond: we fix the grading, extend leaders, and install channel and pipe drainage as part of hardscape work so the new stonework sheds water instead of collecting it.
Straight talk on wet basements
Exterior masonry work solves a lot of water problems. Interior perimeter systems, sump pumps, and finished basement waterproofing are a specialty trade. When your problem needs that, we'll say so instead of selling you the wrong fix.
Waterproofing questions, answered
My basement leaks after big storms. Where do you start?
Outside. In most Connecticut houses the source is surface water: grading toward the house, short downspouts, or hardscape pitched wrong. Correcting the outside path is cheaper than any interior system and often ends the problem.
